The Hasso Plattner Institute invites applications for a PhD position in the field of Computer Science, with a specific focus on Business Process Management. Position Description: The selected candidate will work under the guidance of experienced researchers in the domain of Business Process Management. The focus of this position will be on process choreographies and flexible processes, exploring novel approaches to enhance process modeling and automation in blockchain environments. The project is funded by Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft; it is a collaborative research project with colleagues from the University of Lugano in Switzerland. Responsibilities

• Conduct cutting-edge research in the field of process choreographies and flexible processes.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on research projects.
• Design and implement innovative solutions to address challenges related to interacting processes and process choreographies.
• Publish research findings in reputable conferences and journals.
• Present research progress and results within the academic community.
• Contribute to the institute’s collaborative and intellectually stimulating environment.

Qualifications

• A master’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or a related field with a final grade good or better
• Strong background and interest in business process management, process modeling, and execution.
• Programming skills and experience with relevant tools and technologies.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking.
• Effective communication skills in written and spoken English.
