I received my diploma in Informatics at the University of Hamburg, where I specialized in formal modeling with Petri nets. Afterwards I worked as Research Assistent in the Theoretical Foundations Group at the University of Hamburg and in the BMBF project Herold.

In October 2012 I joined the Business Process Technology research group and became a member in the graduate school SOAMED. There I researched Business Process Architectures and their formal verification, Complex Event Processing, fragment-based Case Management, and the integration of IoT into Business Process Management. My research is published in several journals and conferences (e.g. IEEE TII, BPM, CoopIS, BPMDS). I am also involved in teaching, e.g. supervising the BA project, supervising MA and BA theses, and organizing seminars.

I am the project lead of the Chimera case engine and the Gryphon case modeler, and am responsible for the IT infrastructure of the group.
