Call for Papers ================ 1st International Workshop on Process Engineering (IWPE) Workshop at the Business Process Management (BPM 2015) 31.08.2015, Innsbruck, Austria Website: http://bpt.hpi.uni-potsdam.de/IWPE Scope ====== The First International Workshop on Process Engineering (IWPE) aims at bringing together researchers and practitioners interested in the engineering aspects of process-oriented information systems. Business process management as a scientific discipline has been very successful in developing concepts, languages, algorithms, and techniques in different aspects of the domain. Many of those concepts and techniques, however, did not yet find their way to the operational business of companies. One of the reasons for the weak uptake of research results in business process management is the lack of research in engineering aspects of process oriented information systems. Engineering focuses on the entire value chain of system development, from the elicitation of business requirements to the engineering of suitable architectures, components and user interfaces of process systems, as well as their testing, deployment, and maintenance. The workshop goal is to provide a forum for researchers and practitioners who are interested in all engineering aspects of the design and implementation of process-oriented information systems. We expect stimulating discussions of engineering approaches on the edge of software engineering and business process management. It will be interesting to discuss in how far software engineering methods and techniques in, for instance, requirements engineering, software architectures and testing can be used to tackle process engineering challenges. On the other hand, process management results could also complement software engineering techniques in areas like requirements elicitation and software architectures. Topics ======= - Methodologies for the design and engineering of process applications - Requirements engineering of process systems - Testing process systems - User interface design of process systems - Deployment aspects of process systems - Novel architectures in process design and implementation - Design of process engines - Empirical aspects of process systems - Lessons learned from process implementation projects - Cloud and service-based processes - Cloud-based process enactment Submission =========== Submitted papers will be evaluated on the basis of significance, originality and their technical quality. The length of a paper must not exceed 12 pages (including figures, bibliography and appendices). Authors are requested to prepare submissions according to the LNCS/LNBIP format specified by Springer. The title page must contain a short abstract and a classification of the topics covered, preferably using the list of topics above. Papers should be submitted electronically through easychair. Members of an international program committee will review all submissions. Each paper will be reviewed by three PC members guaranteeing that only papers presenting high quality and innovative research and practice issues in areas relevant to the workshop theme will be accepted. At least one author of each accepted paper is required to present the paper at the workshop in Innsbruck. All workshop papers will be published by Springer as a post-workshop proceedings volume in the series Lecture Notes in Business Information Processing (LNBIP). Please submit your paper at https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=bpmws15 Important Dates ================ Submission deadline: 29.05.2015 Notification: 29.06.2015 Camera-ready papers: 20.07.2015 Workshop date: 31.08.2015 Organization ============= Mathias Weske, Hasso Plattner Institue at the University of Potsdam Stefanie Rinderle-Ma, University of Vienna Program Committee ================== Ruth Breu, University of Innsbruck Jan vom Brocke, University of Liechtenstein Fabio Casati, University of Trento Florian Daniel, University of Trento Remco Dijkman, TU Eindhoven Marlon Dumas, University of Tartu Schahram Dustdar, TU Vienna Gregor Engels, University of Paderborn Avigdor Gal, Technion, Haifa Robert Heinrich, KIT Karlsruhe Arthur ter Hofstede, QUT Brisbane Manfred Jeusfeld, University of Skoevde Gerti Kappel, Technical University of Vienna Dimitris Karagiannis, University of Vienna Dimka Karastoyanova, University of Stuttgart Ekkart Kindler, Technical University of Denmark Frank Leymann, University of Stuttgart Jan Mendling, WU Vienna Barbara Paech, University of Heidelberg Caesare Pautasso, University of Lugano Klaus Pohl, University of Duisburg-Essen Frank Puhlmann, Bosch Software Innovations Manfred Reichert, University of Ulm Manuel Resinas, University of Seville Marcello la Rosa, QUT Brisbane Antonio Ruiz Cortez, University of Seville Farouk Toumani, Université Blaise Pascal, Clermont-Ferrand Barbara Weber, University of Innsbruck Matthias Weidlich, Imperial College London Roel Wieringa, University of Twente Uwe Zdun, University of Vienna
