Bio Sketch

Professor Dr. Mathias Weske is chair of the business process technology research group at Hasso Plattner Institute of IT Systems Engineering at the University of Potsdam, Germany. His research interests include business process management, process choreographies, process modeling methodologies, and service oriented computing. He is an Area Editor of Elsevier's Information Systems journal and on the Editorial Board of Springer's Distributed and Parallel Databases journal. Dr. Weske has published twelve books and over 150 scientific papers in journals and conferences. He is on the steering committee of the BPM conference series, a member of ACM, IEEE, and GI. Dr. Weske has published a textbook on business process management. He is a co-founder of Berlin-based software company Signavio and the author of a massive online course on Business Process Modeling and Analysis hosted at http://openhpi.de.
