Open Master Thesis Topics @ BPT

This page summarizes our group's master thesis offerings. They are aligned with our current projects' main topics.

Business Process Modeling

Process models describe how an organization works in order to create value for its customers. Process models serve as basis for improving businesses and reflecting change back into the organization. They either focus on internal aspects, e.g. which activities are performed, or on the interaction behavior of an organization with its environment. The Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN) is the de-facto standard within this field and the starting point for the following Master theses. They all focus on advanced topics in the space of process modeling and have high practical relevance.

Service Composition

Today's business environments are characterised by an increasing demand for flexibility and interconnectivity. Therefore, new concepts for the development of software platforms like Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) are emerging. An important aspect of SOA is the seamless integration of (distributed) software systems and thus the composition of services. Important issues in this area span from pure technical aspects of the integration to goal-oriented, semantically consistent alignment of services and the exchanged data.
