Bio

I was born in Braunschweig, Germany in 1982. After serving in the army, I studied Software Systems Engineering at the Hasso-Plattner-Institute (HPI) from 2002 to 2006. As part of that I spent a semester at the Ecole d’Ingénieurs des Technologies de l’Information et du Management (EFREI) in Paris, France and worked on my Master thesis at the SAP Research Centre Brisbane (Australia) in close collaboration with the Queensland University of Technology (QUT). My industry experience also includes working for Volkswagen, Aquasoft, SAP Labs and McKinsey & Company.

From October 2006 until September 2010 I worked as research assistant and PhD candidate at HPI. Research visits led me to the University of Stuttgart and SAP Research. Recently, I was involved in the Next Generation Business Process Management project of SAP Research and SAP AG.

I am co-founder and managing director of Signavio GmbH, a software vendor for collaborative Business Process Analysis (BPA). The tool allows process modeling using BPMN 2.0 and completely runs in the web browser. It is mainly used for business process design, ITIL, quality management, ISO 9000 certifications and compliance management. Talking process!
